About Jim Hake

Jim Hake is recognized for his narrative, mixed-media sculptural works that are figurative explorations of self and society. Hake’s work draws in the viewer with materials and composition inviting, them to explore it’s layered imagery and symbolism.
Hake enjoys exploring ideas through a vast array of materials processes and techniques. He develops multiple series’ that expand over years, by choosing materials that often carry their own intrinsic conceptual value.
Jim Hake received his BFA at MICA, Baltimore, Maryland. He also received a MA and MFA respectively from California State University, Sacramento and the Henry Radford Hope School of Fine Arts, Indiana University, Bloomington.
Jim Hake currently lives and works in Los Angeles.
